Greetings From The UK.Samuel Pepys in his diary once wrote.
The only difference between a Sailor ..
And a prisoner is that ..
A Sailor Can Drown.
I think that this depends upon "The Sailor"A thousand miles, to the nearest lands.
This view of the sea, provides no sands.
Stormy turbulent waters, tossed and cold.
The only company, is an ice flow.
Dull grey colourless, windy days only.
The world seems dead, and very lonely.
Life beneath the keel, so very deep.
A million secrets, determined to keep.
Rough waters shake, your very bones.
Men naturally think, of their homes.
And then astern, appears this aberration.
A living creature, with life’s determination.
Eight months each year, above and alone at sea.
Visits my ship, to observe me????.
Effortlessly flies, and my heart sings.
A magnificent creature, just one flap of its wings.
It remains astern, for days and weeks.
Constantly on the wing, and never sleeps.
Returns ashore, only to breed.
Whilst with me, appears not to feed.
Winged beauty alone, and few do see.
For this colour appears, just for me.
This vibrant flash, Oh!! What a sight.
This white bird, my soul does light.
Is it in search, of my company??.
Does it arrive, to share with me??.
Our loneliness, a temporary respite.
As this bird flies, throughout the night.
In search of love, and understanding ?.
Constantly flying and rarely landing.
Try as I may, undecided and at a loss.
Do I talk of this Sailor, or the Southern Albatross ?.Now scroll down to see the "Star of this show"..
