A small boy dreams of peace, unrestricted by these lands.
His Father returns from war, and offers both hands.
Dreaming of life at sea, ready to face challenges ahead.
Leaving the security of castles, it should be said.
In search of horizons, that appeared out of reach.
"Feeling the colours" of life, as life they teach.
Taking a share of the knocks, and feeling the fears.
Unashamed, will acknowledge and show the tears.
From the decks of a war canoe, gives all of his might.
For too many times, he will share in the fight.
With advancing years, he must give up this life.
Sailing into the final harbour, leaving the strife.
Autumn season in life, provide the browns and green.
For having returned, he will know he has been.
For only now, can he fulfil his primary role.
As guardian, defender, appreciation of his soul.
Each new sunrise, provides another new dawn.
Clear blue skies, herald this fine winters morn.
Another peaceful chapter, is but simple progression.
To write the last, now becomes his obsession.
There is only one way to say
"I Love You"
