The 11th month, the 11th day, at the 11th
hour. We stop for just two minutes, to acknowledge their power. For Tis
these men, who so valiantly fought. In their quest for our freedom, they
bravely sought.
Left their homes, with the greatest of intent. Fought
so bravely, they did not relent. Individually giving, of the ultimate
sacrifice. It was their lives, lost.... on the throw of the
dice.
These men were often, just boys in their mind. For it was the
truth, they sought to find. To bring justice, to all the worlds
oppressed. Gave of their all, as they did their best.
These men taken, from all walks of life. Bonded together, as they left home and
wife. Recognised the true value, of their short life. Counting not the
price, accepting the strife.
Cheerful ambitious young men, with their
life ahead. Now lay on flanders field, so lifeless and dead. Amidst the
spring boom, of poppies so red. As if powered by blood, this flower
bed.
Freedom for the individual, they believed so strong. And gave of
their lives, so we could move on. Most who read this, can have little or no
idea. To live and die so long, amidst all that fear.
This ultimate
sacrifice, and the highest price paid. Responsible for your life, your
freedom it made. A Nazi war machine, eventually brought to it's
knees. Enables you to live, as you damm well please.
Take not for
granted, these real historical facts. For there will come a time, to repeat
these unselfish acts. Think long and hard, at your actions this day. There
may come that time, youth has to die in this way.
There is only one way to say
"I Love You"
But there are thousands of ways to demonstrate
