Her family motto, she will tell you proudly
Survived rationing, and the war years
These austere times, with many tears

To these hard times, she was no stranger
Protecting her family, safe from danger
Ensuring all basic, needs were met
Going without, and never in debt



Providing a smile, understanding, and love
Ensuring personal ambition, was given a shove
To all her children, provides encouragement
Their success, ensures her personal enjoyment



Involved in a traffic accident, it must be said
Resulting in the loss, of her right leg
Undaunted by the loss, remains active as she may
Will boast she can, lose 30 pounds in a day



This lady battles onwards, on a daily basis
Continues to provide, this warm oasis
Never claims to be clever, but she aint dumb
Truly Special and Lovely, for this is my mum



There is only one way to say
"I Love You "
But there are thousands of ways to demonstrate
