As the gloom is broken, by the first sunshine rays.
Smell of jungle coastline, declares a new day.
Burning and turning, the choppers are ready
Preparation completed, it’s time to be steady

bullet

Machine guns fitted, and windows removed
Union Jacks painted, it is now time to prove
Courage expected, as we must not be seen
For when we return, we will never have been

bullet

Tree tops a-skimming, and notice the smell
Abundant jungle flowers, and the kerosene hell
Rigid faces display, much older than years
Each man handling, his own personal fears

bullet

Target approached, and evacuation commenced
Embassy staff, families and friends
Load the cargo, without compassion
Speed is essential, no time for passion

bullet

Arrogant Ambassador, insists that we take
His painting collection, for they are not fake
Fuel and time pressures, do not permit
To such a demand, we refuse to submit

bullet

Seven minutes later, the cargo aboard
Returning to safety, thanks to the lord
Children crying, the ladies bemused
British ambassador, still not amused

bullet

Fuel capacity, is now the concern
But we return, with some left to burn
Relax now, as we were not seen
No medals for this, for we never have been
