A fleeting flash, of colour in the tree
A beautiful parrot, for all to see
Moving effortlessly, on the breeze
A sight to be wondered, a sight to please

We perceive as freedom, this supple form
Three dimensional movement, Tis not our norm
We watch in amazement, and wish it were us
To have such freedom, would give us a buzz

Consider however, it’s behaviour is instinct
How many emotions, within are extinct
It feels no love, heartbreak or pain
To become a parrot, would not be a gain

So rejoice in the fact, that you are you
Enjoy your emotions, for they are true
Envy not, the parrots fleeting form
For if you became one,.....My loss is forlorn
