To balance the greys and browns,
It’s been a funny old life,
With funny old ups and downs,
With days coloured silver and gold,
To balance the greys and browns,
With laughter to raise the roof,
And only a few quiet tears,
With friendship and love to guide us,
Dispelling all doubts and fears.
We’ve had some magical times,
We’ve set the heavens alight,
We’ve sailed on a sea of trouble,
And tossed and turned in the night.
We’ve known some wonderful people,
And lost some very good friends,
We’ve looked for light in the tunnel,
And searched where the rainbow ends.
It’s been a funny old life,
But taking it all in all,
The pieces just fit together,
Like bricks in the garden wall.
A mixture of light and shade,
A paint box, a matching set,
So here’s a hope for tomorrow,
The Jigsaw’s not finished yet!
There is only one way to say
