An Alternative Point Of View
This article, written by Cliff who lives in the UK and published here with
his express permission, gives us an alternative point of view

I do not agree with all the points of view expressed here, however I do believe Cliff has the right to "Freedom Of Speech". He may not agree that he has that right.
Simply Steve
It occurs to me that far too many people, of whatever political viewpoint tend
to neglect some rather [to me] obvious natural facts..
No one as in nature has any
'right' to anything at all. Other than being born [not their choosing] living
for a period of time that may be seconds or decades and dying..
There can never be a guarantee that anyone can have life, liberty the pursuit
of happiness or almost anything else.
These are human aspirations, and quite often the way we express them may be poetical, and illogical.
There are as many twists and turns to the human character/psyche as there are
atoms of hydrogen in the universe.. So one 'mans'
happiness results in another’s sadness.. So one's
right to happiness is satisfied, the others denied
Its about time we started to question anyone who says 'we' have the 'right' to
this that or the other.. There are no such rights in
nature, and nature tends to have the final say.
Life itself is a privilege, that nature, other men, or accident may withdraw at
any time..
So the 'right' to life is a load of cobblers, as is the right to liberty, that
has to be pursued and if necessary you fight for it.
As for happiness, that’s a state of mind, you may achieve it, once or twice or never..
I find it strange that so many people think they have the 'right' to something
or other without making the slightest effort of earn or achieve whatever it is,
'he' has it so must 'I' its my 'right' seems to prevail. Irrespective of circumstance..
What the solution is I have no idea, but perhaps a neat little device containing
a lie detector and a small quantity of explosive worn around the necks of
anyone entering political, religious or public life might go some way towards eliminating
the more idiotic members of the human race:-) There leaving the rest of us with some chance
of pootling on with our own lives in our own way.
